Pharmaceutical Analysis requires analytical instruments, the students are taught extensively the analytical methods and techniques including the application of sophisticated instruments like, HPLC, IR, UV spectroscopic methods for drugs, pharmaceuticals and others.

The postgraduate laboratory for Pharmaceutical Analysis is equipped with latest analytical state-of-the-art equipments and trained analyst to undertake pharmaceutical analysis, drug analysis from the biological fluids and herbal formulations. The major research programmes are largely focused on new analytical method development. Postgraduates have core subjects like Advanced Pharmaceutical Analysis, Quality Assurance and they are specifically trained in Bioanalytical methods, GLP and documentation systems
- Development and validation of analytical methods for multi component drugs in their formulations.
- Development and validation of chiral separation of some enantiomeric drugs by HPLC
- Conducting the workshops & seminars for academicians and chemists in quality control departments on analytical method development, operation and maintenance of sophisticated analytical instruments, GLP and Quality Assurance.
- Conducting accelerated stability studies, Pharmacokinetics studies,Bioavailability and Bioequivalence studies.
- Impurity profile studies of some known drugs
